You will find these men and women at the station every Sunday and Monday evening, and many other days in between, training. We are constantly striving to learn new ways to improve the service we provide. As much as we like to learn new things we spend equally as much effort refining the skills we have been taught over and over. We strive for flawless execution in everything that we do.
The members and employees of this fire department take great pride and provide many hours of labor to ensure the equipment and facilities of this department are maintained to the highest standard. It is vital for a successful intervention into any emergency that the equipment we bring to the scene and the buildings in which it is housed are maintained to nothing less than 100 percent satisfaction. It is vital to our survival that the lights work, the doors operate, the roof does not leak, etc. Furthermore, the apparatus must start and the equipment must operate the first time every time. When something is amiss you will find our people, your people, on the clock, regardless if they are receiving a paycheck, ensuring the problem is taken care of or back-ups are in place so that we are ready to go at a moment’s notice.
The first responders that will respond to you in your time of need carry along with them many years of experience. Nearly 20 percent of the active responders have more than twenty years’ experience. To better that, nearly 30 percent of the membership have between five and ten years’ experience. Those are astounding numbers when you stop to think about the demands we ask of them and yet they are still here day after day, year after year.
With all of this said, it is important that we add the fact that these men and women respond to more than 500 emergency responses every year regardless of the time of day. Many times staying out all night long and going straight to work the next day with little or no sleep at all.
So again welcome to our website. Take a few minutes to get to know us and our equipment as we are proud to show it off. Remember the dedication that these fine men and women provide to bring this equipment to you. If you do not live in an area that we serve please take a moment or two of your time to learn who is there for you and thank them for their efforts.
